Scope and publisher

This policy covers Clipnemi and its pages on vanvolabs.com. VanVo Labs publishes the app. App storage and website visits are described separately below. The publisher and contact details appear on every page.

Clipboard data on your device

After a vault is created, capture is enabled by default unless you choose otherwise. While capture is enabled, the app observes clipboard changes supplied by macOS, including changes made by other apps or browser extensions. It does not depend on a particular copy shortcut. Saved items can contain text, images, links, file references and native app formats. Clipboard contents may include personal or confidential data.

Local encrypted storage

Saved clipboard records and capture settings are encrypted on the Mac. The app has no account, cloud sync, advertising or usage analytics, and does not send clipboard contents to the publisher. Store and website editions use an authorized shared local container. Interface language, the opening shortcut and app visibility are local preferences; they contain no clipboard history. Optional launch at login is managed by macOS Login Items and stores no clipboard content.

Update checks on request

In versions that provide update checking, the app requests public version metadata from vanvolabs.com only when you choose to check. It does not send clipboard contents, search queries, device identifiers or passphrases. Cloudflare processes standard connection information to serve the request. The app does not check in the background or download/install updates automatically. Store editions use Apple’s update channels.

Keys, device authentication and recovery

macOS Keychain protects device keys. macOS performs device authentication; Clipnemi does not receive fingerprint data or the Mac login password. A recovery passphrase protects a separate recovery key. This version has no backup or restore interface: keep original data and the recovery passphrase. Losing access to device keys may make stored history unavailable.

Capture controls and limits

You can pause or resume capture from the app or menu bar. Capture may continue when the vault interface is locked, subject to operating-system access and size/storage limits. Temporary failures are retried and shown in the app. Oversized or unavailable clipboard data may not be saved. Confidential markers are respected when supplied by the source; they do not guarantee that every secret is excluded.

Files, folders and previews

Files and folders copied in Finder are stored as references, not copies or backups. Folder contents are not copied recursively. An image preview for a file reference reads the current original file only when accessible. Raw clipboard images stored in the vault are read from the vault. Deleting a history entry does not delete its referenced original files.

Retention, deletion and uninstalling

History remains until you delete it; the app does not automatically remove history. Deleting an entry removes it from active history, but secure erasure is not guaranteed and operating-system backups may keep older copies. Uninstalling the app may leave its local container or Keychain items. The publisher cannot remotely access or delete your local vault. Do not remove device keys while you still need the associated history.

What encryption does not cover

Vault encryption protects stored history. It does not encrypt the system clipboard for other applications or the original files referenced by it. Copying an entry returns its contents to the system clipboard, where other apps may access them under macOS rules. Screen-capture exclusion is requested only for Clipnemi and does not block every screenshot, recording method or physical camera.

Website hosting, analytics and regional availability

Cloudflare hosts this website and delivers downloads. It processes connection and request information to provide those services. Cloudflare Web Analytics supplies aggregate visit and performance metrics; this website analytics integration is separate from the app. Approximate request country is used to enforce download availability, including the current unavailability of downloads in France. The site does not receive clipboard contents. Provider policies are linked below.

Support email and your choices

If you contact support, the publisher and email providers process the message and contact details you choose to send to answer your request. Support mail may be kept as needed for the request, security and applicable legal obligations. Avoid sending secrets or clipboard history. You may request access, correction or deletion of support correspondence, or ask privacy questions, using the contact below; applicable rights depend on your jurisdiction. Local history is controlled in the app because the publisher does not hold it.

Children, updates and third parties

Clipnemi is a general-purpose utility, not a service directed at children, and has no app account or behavioral advertising. The website may link to Apple or Cloudflare; their services have their own policies. Material policy changes will be reflected here with a new update date. Previously installed versions can have different capabilities, so check the version you use.
